Walking and Cycling Team
Our team works with two organisations to provide services to schools. The providers we work with are Sustrans and Living Streets.
Further information
Sustrans’ role is to work with, and support, targeted primary and secondary schools across Leicester City. The project’s ambition is to double cycling numbers within the school and aim for 20% of the pupils cycling regularly. Schools cycling officers intensively engage with schools for the first academic year and tail support off over the course of the next two years, to increase the School’s ability to engage their pupils with bike riding independently.
Living Streets provides free support and resources to encourage more students and families to travel actively to school. Annually, the team also runs the Schools Ride for schools to participate in as well.
