Our service provides a full range of health, safety and wellbeing support. This includes policy and guidance, telephone helpline, site visits, meeting support, etc. - in fact, comprehensive, responsive support on any health and safety matter.

About our service:

Our service is professionally led by Martin Southam, a Chartered Health and Safety Practitioner with 25 years’ professional health and safety experience. Since 1998 he has worked in the public sector and since 2004 has been responsible for health and safety policy, advice and support for Leicester City Council.

Our service is supported by five health and safety advisers, all professionally qualified to a minimum of Diploma/level 5 and have or are expected to achieve Chartered membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) and have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a large, multi-disciplined organisation.

Benefits:

We provide an extensive range of free health and safety training courses, including D&TA accredited Design & Technology courses and First Aid and Food Safety, delivered in our own training centre and via an e-learning platform.

We provide a comprehensive health and safety management auditing programme. We aim to provide challenge and support to enable statutory compliance.

All major health and safety issues are fully supported, including fire, asbestos, legionella, COSHH, lifting equipment, DSE, workplace issues, manual handling, electricity at work, managing contractors, permits to work, etc.

We provide a telephone helpline which is free to use, and we have an email account to handle email enquiries and correspondence.  We will arrange to attend your sites as necessary to provide the support you need.

• Design and Technology Association (DATA) accredited training courses for teachers and school support staff including Specialist Portable Power Tools health and safety training
• First Aid Training
• Food Hygiene Training
• Access to Wellbeing services such as Occupational Health, Confidential Counselling and Physiotherapy
