Family Support in Schools

Our service provides support to families whose children are based at the school. We work towards improving children’s attainment, achievements and readiness to learn. Interventions are tailored to meet the needs of the individual school whether this is open casework, acting as an advice point, 1-1 interventions with children, children/parent groups, attending meetings etc.

Our expertise covers a vast range of everyday difficulties for families like school attendance, housing, finances, employment, domestic violence and mental health to name a few.

Benefits:

Parents are supported either on the spot or through arranged appointments both at school and in the family home. Working alongside internal (school staff) and external professionals, support is provided in looking to reduce the impact factors that may be having a negative impact on the child’s education and everyday living. Family Support Worker’s in schools utilise their extensive knowledge base in supporting families and this helps the school to focus on the everyday teaching of the child and in working together look to reduce barriers to learning.
