Local authorities have a statutory duty to ensure arrangements are in place to deliver a free school meal together with providing meals for those children whose parents wish to pay. A service provided by city catering will comply with legislation which includes food safety, health and safety, working practices and nutritional standards. It is essential that schools are secure in the knowledge that children and staff receive safe, good quality food which meets the nutritional standards.

We can provide the following range of services:

• Staff advice and support on the following: Appropriate kitchen organisation and management; Use of menus; Presentation of food; Cash handling procedures; Staffing structures; and Recruitment and working practices.

• Expert reactive and programmed servicing of kitchen equipment is available. Advice provided for schools when planning any replacement/additional catering equipment.

• Kitchen audits in relation to food safety, health & safety and working practices.

• Bespoke catering training covering all aspects of an operational production kitchen, which covers: Food Safety; Health & Safety; Food Production and service; and Menu Planning.

• Kitchen manuals that are appropriate to the effective running of the catering operation can be purchased and include: Recipe file; Health and safety manual; and Food safety manual.

We are able to provide `one off` service arrangements to schools within a 10 mile radius of the city with an agreed price or longer term service level agreements (SLA) for long term  projects.
