Training and development
This year we are offering governor training courses on a ‘pay as you go’ basis, rather than through a subscription. This change is in response to feedback received and also to take into account the current financial pressures schools are facing.
Further information

Booking your place:
- Visit https://governors.lls.leicester.gov.uk/
- Select Courses on left hand side menu
- Select the course you wish to attend
A map on how to find the venue can be accessed via the course details and clicking on ‘View map’ under the course location.
You should receive an automated email to confirm your booking but if you don’t, please contact us at education.governor.services@leicester.gov.uk or on 0116 454 1916. A reminder email will also be sent to you approximately 7 days before the course date. Certificates of attendance will be issued at the end of each term.
Please advise your school when you have booked a place. The course flyer provides details of the charge for attending the course but the invoice will be sent to the school for payment, not to the individual governor. Courses will only run if we have a minimum of 10 governors booked onto the course. If there are insufficient numbers, courses will be cancelled 7 days prior to the date of the course. It would be helpful therefore if you could book your place as early as possible. If you have booked a place on a course but find you cannot attend, please advise us as early as possible. Should you not cancel your place, the school will still be charged.
